About Us

SPC was established in 1964 in Studley by Margaret John a Fellow of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

Margaret qualified in 1948 from Cardiff Royal Infirmary School of Physiotherapy. She is the founder member of many organisations within the Private sector of the Profession including Sports Medicine, Acupuncture, and The McKenzie Institute of Musculoskeletal treatment for which she became a National and International Lecturer.

She was elected to the Council of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and served on many committees; Council awarded her a Fellowship in 1995 for services to the profession and promotion of the McKenzie method. She became chairman, then President and awarded Honorary Life Membership of Physio First. She has just retired after 45 years of happy Practice –

“Physiotherapy is such a worthwhile profession. Every working day has been a pleasure because I knew I could always help someone.”

In November 2006 Margaret’s daughter Rosemary John became Director of SPC and the practice expanded into a modern, purpose built facility in Redditch just 4 miles from the original practice.

SPC aims to offer an appointment within 24hours of first contact and there is no obligation for a prolonged course of treatment - sometimes one or two sessions are all that is required. We also offer home visits if necessary.

The practice is registered with all the major insurance companies and our staff will provide you with full administrative support in working with your insurance company. We are members of the Organisation of Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice (Physio First).

We are open 5 days per week Monday-Friday offering a variety of appointment times.
