Your First Appointment

What will happen at my appointment?

Initially the physiotherapist will take a history of the condition; they will need to know of any other medical conditions and any medication you may be taking. They will also take details of your lifestyle such as your occupation or hobbies, as these can all influence the cause of your symptoms and how you may recover. Following this they will conduct a thorough physical examination of the appropriate area to locate the problem. They will then discuss the nature of your condition and the best treatment options before proceeding with appropriate treatment as agreed between you.

Do I need to bring anything?

You do not need to bring anything but a pair of shorts might be useful if you have a lower limb problem. We advise that you wear loose, comfortable clothing as you may be asked to undress to expose the problem area.

How is my treatment paid for?

If you are using private or company medical insurance we will require the name of your insurance company, your policy number and claim/authorisation reference number. We will then correspond with your insurers.

If you do not have any insurance cover you will be asked to pay after each treatment. We accept cash, cheques and all of the major credit/debit cards.
