Clinical & Modern Pilates
WEEKLY 60 minute CLASSEs
What is Pilates?
Pilates consists of gentle, non-impact exercises that work on increasing your core strength, flexibility and balance whilst allowing you to work at your own level.
Pilates exercises have been found to be useful in managing back and neck problems as well as improving posture and core strength.
We run a small Clinical Pilates Classes each week where you will be in the hands of a fully qualified chartered Physiotherapist in our equipped and air-conditioned gymnasium. Our Pilates classes will be tailored to suit any individual needs and assist in rehabilitation from injury.
Modern Pilates is based on the original works of German-born Joseph Pilates who designed a series of exercises that used both mental and physical techniques to condition the body. His methods were used primarily by dancers however, in recent years these methods have been introduced into the health and fitness industry.
Modern Pilates bring the best of his techniques into the 21st Century by combining his principles with all the recent research and knowledge we have about fitness, exercise and core stability. The unique exercises have been devised in conjunction with physiotherapists to bring specific exercises that look at posture, back, hip and knee stability and strength while still working on core function.
